The Secretary General of SCSRT: “The development of special SIT zones is a requirement for sustainable development of the country.”

Dr. Vahid Ahmadi, said in the third joint meeting of the delegations of the five provinces currently hosting special SIT zones in Tebriz, that the development of special SIT zones is a requirement for the development of the country.

 

Public relations office of the secretariat for SCSRT: in the third joint meeting between the delegations of the provinces currently hosting special SIT zones, Dr. Ahmadi, the secretary general of SCSRT explained about recent developments in the activities of the council.

Dr. Ahmadi acknowledged the difficulties ahead of the country in launching special SIT zones program and the challenges concerned.

The secretary general declared that, special SIT zones are an attempt to provide all the necessary requirements for science and technology development in one place so that they can mutually benefit from this opportunity and contribute to a synergy.

Dr. Ahmadi added that the performances of the teams involved in this mission are in progress and many of the provinces are applying for a permit to establish such zones in their respective regions.

He appreciated the secretariat’s initiative to determine a set of minimum requirement for the provinces that want to host a special SIT zone.

Later on, Dr. Abooyee, the deputy secretary general of SCSRT, explained about the history of SIT zones and said that a professional committee has taken charge of SIT zones at the secretariat.

He also added that the statute of the acting organization for SIT zones has been prepared and ratified in the secretariat.

“In order to fulfill the supervisory collaborative role of the secretariat, expert investigation teams are sent to the provinces hosting SIT zones and provinces are supposed to present their progress reports to the secretariat”, said Dr. Abooyee.

The delegations of the provinces reported on the performance of their respective province with regard to SIT zones later on in the meeting.
